This 12 hour Certificate in Database Systems can be obtained fully online for either undergraduate or graduate credit. It is designed to prepare one to a be a database professional, or work in any other information systems career in which knowledge of capturing, storing, retrieving, organizing, and analyzing information in important. This certificate provides both theoretical and practical knowledge in database design, development and implementation, advanced database concepts, database administration, as well as data mining. Students will become proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL) using major relational database systems like Oracle and SQL Server.
This Certificate in Database Systems is not limited to students in Computer Science and related fields. This certificate will also be useful for students in business schools, geographic information system fields, health care related fields, and students in other fields who want to learn to manage and work with data. The University of West Florida has launched an innovative new program to bring a cutting-edge Geographic Information Science Certificate to students around the country. Laptops are issued to students for the entire one-year duration of the certificate program. Each laptop is pre-loaded with state-of-the-art GIS and Remote Sensing software to conduct hands-on analysis. Students also participate in online courses with instructors who are highly qualified in their field.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a University of West Florida Certificate in Geographic Information Science, and earn 23/24 semester credit hours of undergraduate college credit. Students with a bachelor’s degree can earn up to nine semester hours of graduate credit. The certificate can be used to help fulfill a student’s educational requirement when applying for their GISP certification. Are you finding it difficult to keep up with the newest technologies and concepts such as electronic health records, e-prescribing and pay for performance? The Certificate in Medical Informatics program provides coverage of these areas and further explores the interdisciplinary nature of Medical Informatics. This is a program that should be of interest to physicians, nurses, health care administrators, medical librarians, computer scientists, technicians, engineers, and others. Our emphasis is on the real world interaction between medicine and technology and not on theory. We provide practical and up-to-date examples of issues and interesting emerging technologies with regional, national, and international impacts. All four courses in our certificate program were designed with input from (and are taught by) physicians, computer scientists, and business leaders. You will develop real skills that will enable you to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams. The UWF Department of Accounting and Finance offers an online graduate “Certificate in Professional Accountancy”. This 12 semester hour certificate is designed for students and accounting professionals with bachelor’s degrees in accounting or the equivalent, who need three additional accounting/tax courses and the second law course required to sit for the CPA examination in Florida. A GMAT score is not required to obtain the certificate.
In order to apply for the Certificate in Professional Accountancy, you must be either a degree seeking or non-degree seeking student at the University of West Florida. In addition, you must have a bachelor's degree of equivalent in accounting at the time of application. Students may incorporate the undergraduate Certificate courses in our online programs in Information Engineering Technology (IET) or IIT: Networking and Telecommunications. Information Engineering Technology prepares individuals to assume the roles of network, telecommunications, and instructional systems support in a wide variety of organizations.
