The University of West Florida Online Campus has a Prospective Student Coordinator to assist with any issues associated with online courses and programs.
As your dedicated student coordinator, I would like to introduce myself. My name is John Carey and I am a retired Navy Commander (Submarines). Education-wise, I earned a BS in Management and Psychology with Honors (Summa Cum Laude), University of Maryland, and an MA in ESE Learning Disabilities, University of West Florida. After teaching students with exceptional needs, Elementary, Middle, and Secondary schools, I joined the faculty, College of Professional Studies, Division of Teacher Education, in 1996,where I served as Instructor,
Coordinator of Educational Programs, and Director, Field Experiences and Student Teaching. I bring to the Student Coordinator assignment a wealth of experience and working knowledge of University Academic Policies, Graduate and Undergraduate programs, as well as the Department of Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), and Troops-To-Teachers/Spouse-To-Teachers Programs.
