Important Note: Fall 2013 out-of-state tuition waivers cannot be processed or approved until the new tuition and fee structure for academic year 13-14 is approved the end of June 2013. Students can submit the waiver after registering for Fall 2013 courses but approvals will be delayed until late June.
All students admitted to a UWF Online Campus degree program and approved for the out-of-state tuition waiver as of Summer 2012, will continue to receive the 100% out-of-state tuition waiver (waiver of non-residence) until degree completion, or a maximum of 45 credit hours waived for graduate students and 120 credit hours waived for undergraduate students, as long as continuous enrollment is maintained.
Continuous enrollment is defined as completing 6 credit hours of graduate courses each fall and spring semester or completing 9 credit hours of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester. No minimum enrollment requirement exists for the summer semester.
- Currently admitted students failing to meet the continuous enrollment requirement are still eligible for tuition waivers with the characteristics described below.
Note: Current UWF Online Campus military and certificate program students maintain 100% tuition waiver until certificate completion. No continuous enrollment restrictions apply.
Current Out-of-state tuition waiver requirements and characteristics:
- 90% out-of-state tuition waiver (waiver of non-residence) for graduate students until degree completion or 45 credit hours.
- 75% out-of-state tuition waiver (waiver of non-residence) for undergraduate students until degree completion or 120 credit hours.
- Out-of-state tuition waivers are no longer available to non-Florida residents residing within Florida waiting to establish Florida residency. Once Florida residency is established, no waiver is necessary.
- Out-of-state tuition waivers are no longer available to non-US residents.
Active Duty & Reserve Military Personnel:
- Active Duty and Reserve military students residing outside of Florida are always eligible to receive the 100% out-of-state tuition waiver.
- Non-Florida resident members of the U.S. Armed Forces on active duty stationed in Florida and their spouse and dependents do not require out-of-state waivers because they are granted Temporary Florida Residency.
New Alabama students:
- New graduate students residing in Alabama are eligible for the out-of-state tuition waiver described below.
- New undergraduate students residing in Alabama should utilize the existing Alabama out-of-state tuition differential because it cost less than the new waiver characteristics described below. More information on the Alabama out-of-state tuition differential.
Important Notes:
- Waivers must be requested and eligibility confirmed every semester - renewal of waivers is NOT automatic.
- If you register for additional course(s) after waiver approval, please submit another waiver including the new course.
- Allow 5-7 business days for waiver processing.
